An Affordable Way to Keep Your Original OLED Screen Quality

Expensive OLED vs. Cheap Copy?

Everyone loved the iPhone 13 Mini when it came out in September 2021. Along with the 12 Mini, it’s the smallest iPhone to feature an OLED (rather than LCD) display.

Downside? If you’ve smashed your iPhone 13 Mini, you’ll pay a lot for an official OLED screen replacement from Apple!

Countless outlets offer cheap screen replacements, but most achieve their low price by using cheap, unofficial “copy” LCD screens (rather than OLEDs). The best are adequate, but won’t come close to an OLED. Many other “copy” LCDs are downright awful, with inferior contrast, colour, resolution or case fit.

It’s often down to luck which one you’ll get.

If you don’t want to pay silly money for an OLED, but you expect better than a cheap, mediocre copy screen, glass replacement may be an alternative.

Glass Replacement – Your Alternative Option

Often when a phone’s screen gets “broken”, it’s just the surface glass (containing the digitizer/touch layer) that’s cracked and the OLED screen below still works.

In such cases, it’s possible to replace the surface glass while keeping the original screen. Most places don’t do this because they lack the skills and specialised equipment required, but at We Buy LCDs, our entire business is built around this sort of thing!

This is how we can offer you the best of both worlds– iPhone 13 Mini glass replacement with quality similar to a brand new OLED, but at a price closer to what other places charge for a poor-quality “copy” screen.

(Screen beneath cracked glass must still be in good order for a glass replacement repair- no “blobs”, stripes or other marks you wouldn’t consider acceptable. See “questions” list for further details).

How to Get Your Phone Fixed

Please ensure that the screen beneath the cracked glass is still in working order (as described elsewhere) before sending it to us. (If you’re unsure, get in touch first).

More Reasons to Choose Glass Replacement

Other advantages include:-

  • No “non-genuine screen” warnings. These happen with almost all non-Apple repairs (even where the other screen is a genuine one from another iPhone!). The underlying screen isn’t being changed, so there’s no warning.
  • Less likely to lose value from a cheap/ill-fitting screen. (This is something you’ll want to bear in mind if you’re planning on selling it!)
  • Avoids risk of strain- or even- damage from using an LCD-based display your phone’s circuitry was never designed to drive.
