A Wide Range of Repairs
We’re a part of Disk Depot, which has been in existence since 2001 and has the better part of two decades of repair experience. We started off with PCs and laptops, but quickly added smartphones to our repertoire when the Apple iPhone arrived in 2007, and- with the 2010 launch of the iPad- tablets. These are now the backbone of our repair service, and We Buy LCDs grew out of our own need for a reliable supply of affordable original screens for this purpose. The good news is that you can benefit from our experience in this area by outsourcing your repairs out to us.
In particular, our technicians have many years worth of microsoldering experience which covers the skills and knowledge necessary for board-level repairs on smartphones and tablets. These are typically far more difficult- and risky!- than the straightforward “component swap” type repairs and require both experience and specialised tools. We have invested significantly in an extensive range of microsoldering-oriented equipment to get a consistently high level of success with such repairs.
If your staff are busy with regular repairs and you don’t have the time or money to invest in similar training and equipment, but you want a better chance of keeping much of the profit that would otherwise be lost on such repairs, why not consider outsourcing to us? Or if your technicians don’t have the experience to deal with a repair you’ve already taken on- and you don’t want to risk damaging it further- ask us if we can take a look at it!
Our repairs are mainly focused on the Apple iPhone and iPad range, as those are by far the most common devices we receive. However, we can also repair other brands. (Please contact us first to confirm that we are able to work on such devices).
Prices start from just £35– contact us today to find out more, or go direct to our submission form for repairs!
Charging & Power Issues
We can repair phones and tablets that have power issues- for example, if they’re not coming on or if the battery doesn’t appear to be charging correctly.
If you’re not sure whether the issue is related to the battery, a broken charging port or damage to the charging circuitry, we can diagnose this for you as well.
Audio IC Repair
If you’re having a problem possibly associated with the iPhone Audio IC- or in particular, an iPhone 7 with Audio IC disease (AKA “loop disease”)- we can fix it.
Even if the fault is intermittent or hard to diagnose (e.g. some audio functions working and others aren’t), there’s a good chance we can track down and repair the problem.
NAND Flash Repair
For smartphones and tablets with faults related to the internal NAND flash memory, these can be either due to corruption (damaged integrity) of the NAND, or due to damage to the hardware itself.
Either way, we have equipment including a NAND programmer able to diagnose and repair these faults, and the latest in digital microscope technology to carry out microsoldering hardware repairs where necessary.
Backlight Repair
Often a non-working backlight on a phone isn’t due to the backlight itself, but to damage to the circuit that powers it. Causes of such damage include electrically-mismatched “copy” screens that push the circuit beyond its intended spec. However, we can repair backlight circuit issues.
No Network / Searching Baseband Modem IC Repair
Typically, if a phone isn’t detecting the mobile network (cellular network), this indicates a problem with the baseband modem IC. (An iPhone will display “Searching” or “No Service”). We are usually able to reball these chips and get the phone working again.
WiFi Repair
If the wireless networking in a phone or tablet isn’t working, we can carry out a WiFi repair for you.
Liquid/Water Damage
Liquid damage is a common problem with smartphones. If you have a water-damaged (or worse!) phone or tablet (iPhone, iPad or other model), contact us to discuss your repair options.
Remember that with liquid damage, it’s always important to get it looked at as soon as possible. Drying residue can increase the chance of corrosion and ongoing damage.
