Expensive Screen Repair- What Now?

Can you afford the official option?

As with almost all iPhone models nowdays, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro comes with a lovely screen featuring the latest version of their Super Retina XDR OLED display technology.

These are fantastic screens, with one major drawback that you’ll spot if- or when- it gets damaged or stops working…. the cost and availability of getting a replacement screen fitted.

If your iPhone 15 Pro is outside the standard warranty period, or the damage isn’t covered by it, and you don’t have AppleCare+, then you’re likely to find that an official replacement from Apple will be costly.

Can I save money with an unofficial repair?

You’ve probably seen countless unaffiliated repair shops offering screen replacements at a much cheaper price than Apple. What’s the catch?

The catch is that- in the majority of cases- these shops won’t be using an official Apple screen when they replace your display. Instead, most of them use unofficial screens designed and manufactured completely independently by third-party companies.

And the problem here is that almost no unofficial screens come even close in terms of quality to the genuine Apple Super Retina XDR that your iPhone 15 Pro originally featured. Most appear visibly inferior with some being really quite bad indeed.

Some replacement screens aren’t even OLED-based and use the cheaper and older LCD technology instead. This has the secondary issue that your iPhone 15 Pro was never designed to work with an LCD display, something that can cause problems or- in some cases- even damage your phone by overloading its electronics or fitting the case poorly.

Glass Replacement- The Screen Repair Option You Can Afford

In a lot of cases, where an iPhone 15 Pro screen is “broken”, in reality it’s not the screen itself that’s broken. If only the top glass layer is cracked, but the digitizer (touch sensor) and the underlying display are stil otherwise intact, there’s a good chance we can replace the broken glass and fix your original screen at a much lower cost than that of a full OLED replacement.

This isn’t as easy as it sounds- it takes quite a bit more skill and experience than simply replacing the existing screen with a cheap replacement. And that’s why most places don’t offer it- but we do!

Arranging to have your iPhone 15 Pro fixed

Please make sure that your iPhone 15 Pro is a suitable candidate for glass replacement by confirming that the underlying screen itself and the touch (digitizer) is still working.

If this is the case, please click the “Arrange Repair” button.

And if you’re not sure, please don’t worry- if you contact our friendly staff they’ll be pleased to confirm whether or not this is possible, and what alternative options exist

Frequently Asked Questions

How and when is payment due?

This isn’t normally required until after your phone has been repaired, but we’ll give you all the details beforehand regardless.

How long can I expect my screen repair to take?

Usually, we’d have your iPhone 15 Pro glass repair or screen replacement done the same day if we receive it by early afternoon or- at a push- the following day.

Is there a delivery charge?

The price is £10 for the majority of addresses in the mainland UK (except the Scottish Highlands). Please ask us to confirm the price if you live elsewhere. Alternately, if you’re within travelling distance of our repair depot- located in the centre of Dundee- you’re welcome to collect it yourself at no additional charge.

How do I know if my phone is a suitable candidate for glass replacement?

This applies to cases where the top glass layer is broken, but the OLED display below looks fine (i.e. no weird stripes, blobs, spots, etc) and the touch digitizer still works. Again, if you’re in any doubt, get in touch as we’ll be happy to help.

What do I do if the damage isn't suitable for glass replacement?

We also offer full screen replacements at regular prices, including the choice of refurbished OLED displays that are a far better option than low-quality “copy” replacements.
